When selecting a riflescope, for dangerous game rifles (DGR), there are some issues that need to be resolved before you look at the normal scope features. These issues are to do with the ‘geometry’ of the scope and include eye relief, length and diameter of the ocular housing, the size of the objective lens and the length of the scope tube. If you don’t consider these points first, then you may end up with an optically brilliant scope that doesn’t fit your mounts when fitted to your DGR.
